Knot Sew Crafty is one year old today!
Amazing.
I'm amazed most of all that I've kept at it. Usually I get very excited about a new project and then swiftly lose interest, or come to think that the project is stupid and stop. Blogging has been a totally different experience for me.
For one thing, the immediacy of posting keeps me from obsessively editing what I've written and then getting sick of it. I write it, I read it over, and then I post it. Then it's on to the next post. No time to dwell and suffer and fret and doubt and agonize over every little word.
For another, there are very few constraints on what I can blog about, so it can be like a new project every day. If I want to post a recipe for morning glory muffins one day, and wax rhapsodic about the virtues of Daniel Craig versus Sean Connery as James Bond the next, I am free to do it!
Yet another thing is the wonder that is the craft/design/food/parenting blogosphere. I have learned so much and had such a lovely time reading your blogs over this past year. You are endlessly talented, inspirational, clever, wise, and funny, and I don't have the words to express my happiness at having found you!
And the comments! The fact that people take time to write a comment on my little blog, and write such heartfelt, supportive, and downright funny things, is a joy to me every day.
And I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would *meet* people on my computer that I now consider to be true friends. I often communicate with them more than I do with my friends in real life!
I want to thank everyone who visits, especially those who leave comments, and I hope that you'll come back! I have great plans for Knot Sew Crafty's second year--like maybe even some actual crafts!
Note to
Sherri the Claw-and my fellow Spring Swappers--I would love to show you a picture of the fun things that Sherri sent me, but my children immediately absconded with everything, including the mailing box. I did manage to wrestle away the amazing mixed CD that Sherri made, and the book of Weekend Gardening Projects. I can't wait until it gets warm enough to tackle garden projects!
Thank you, Sherri! You are an amazing Swap-Mistress!
