I am posting this picture not because I think it is so beautiful, but to prove that I have been doing something crafty.
It's double crochet, made from a Lion's Brand yarn--I can't remember the name, but it's one of the chunky ones--in a color which I thought was brown, but is called "taupe." I always thought that taupe was beiger than that. Hmm. I still haven't quite figured out how to make a decent looking border, so I skipped it altogether. Nice and simple and toasty warm--perfect for hot summer days?
I hope Eli will like it. He has very discerning tastes for a two week old.
It is actually quite gorgeous!
Just saw your post on Turkey Cookies, and had to tell you that my kids GOBBLE zucchini muffins! I have a fantastic recipe, I'd be happy to share if you want it!

Thank you!! Baby Eli does love it, and so does Auntie J! I'm really impressed -- this beautiful blanket from someone who failed scissor-cutting in kindergarten! Did they actually use the word, "failed?!"

Thanks, Amy! We'll have to set up some private tutorials that include lots of coffee and Bea and Jake playing dreidel, and Willa and India cooing over Quinn.

I've been saying all along that I thought you were crafty! The blanket is beautiful and I'm sure Baby Eli will either treasure it, chew on it or both. Also, keep in mind that you have a neighbor who used to own a yarn shop - who would be happy to show you about borders and also to help you overcome your fear of knitting/knitters.
