The Lament of the Unsuccessful Gardener
For the past few years, I've tried to figure out this gardening thing, and it's not really working for me. It's not that I have a black thumb, more like I have no thumb whatsoever. I missed the time for planting this year, so my square foot garden looks like this:
Very sad, indeed. At least the hula-hoops seem to be thriving and the pots are multiplying.
I'm not completely giving up for this year, though. Here are my tiny lettuce seedlings:
Grow, little plants, grow! If I can get one small salad out of my garden this year, I'll be happy.

Airstream of My Dreams
One of my many obsessions is the classic American Airstream trailer. One day, when I win the lottery, I will have one of my own, but until then, I might just console myself with a trip to Kate's Lazy Meadow in the Catskills. Not only is it owned by the fabulous Kate Pierson of the B-52's, but you can stay in an Airstream Trailer!

Father's Day
You know how mylar balloons get a little weird when they start to deflate? They drift around the house in unpredictable patterns? A Birthday balloon snuck up on me in the kitchen yesterday, kissed me on the cheek, and then drifted away. If I were a different person, I might think that my father came to visit me for Father's Day, in the form of a mylar balloon, but since I'm me, I'll just marvel at how oddly semi-deflated balloons behave.
